Presenter Guide

Please find here the following form to upload any pre-recorded presentations, handouts, or slide decks.

If you are pre-recording your presentation, while you may use any recording software, we recommend using Zoom (start a meeting and then record). Preferred file formats are *.mpeg or *mp4 – Zoom recordings are *.mp4).

Presentations should be around twenty minutes to allow for questions and discussion after and in consideration for other presenters’ own time.

Commuting

Travel on NYC transit is relatively easy, but can be overwhelming! You can rely on most apps like Google Maps to find appropriate train times and routes to your destination.

Payment for boarding buses and trains can be made using a payment app on your phone (Google Pay, Apple Pay, etc.) at the bus door or station turnstile. Entry onto these services is $2.90 per ride.

For commuting from any of the area’s airports, there is no one easy recommendation, but this website can be helpful to find various routes using public transit.

In short, Newark International and JFK require a separate train to get you to the regular transit system, and LaGuardia requires a FREE bus (the Q70) to get you to the subway at Jackson Heights for the E, F, M, R, and 7 trains into the city.

Food and Things To Do

The CUNY Graduate Center, once the B. Altman and Company Building, is in Midtown Manhattan in Koreatown, aka K-Town. There are many Korean restaurants within a block or two of the school, and much more beyond that–the Metropolitan Museum of Art, for example, borders Central Park and is just a few subway stops north.

One of our colleagues at the Graduate Center has prepared a document that will give you a wealth of options.
